Prof. Oladosu A. Ojengbede

CHAIRMAN

Prof. Oladosu A. Ojengbede,was born well over 70 years ago. An astute man with over 25 years of experience as a Professor of Obstetrics and Gynaecology (O&G) and a man of many parts. He is a remarkable teacher, researcher and seasoned administrator Prof Ojengbede rose to the peak of his professional career as a consultant through professional qualifications by becoming fellows of the National Postgraduate College (FMCOG) in1981, West African College of Surgeon (FWACS) in 1982, International College of Surgeon (FICS) in 1988 and Royal College of Obstetrics and Gynaecology FRCOG in 2016.

He is currently the Director of the Center for Population and Reproductive Health at the University College Hospital and Center for Comprehensive Promotion of Reproductive Health, a non-governmental organization. The Centres were established in 2002 and 2021 respectively with a focus of implementing training programs in reproductive (RH), maternal, population, as well as newborn developmental health. He has contributed to the development of translational and interdisciplinary research in the country through the development of new areas of research and training in different cross-cutting areas.

Major career achievements​

-An expert, master trainer and trainer of trainers in advanced urogynecology surgeries of which obstetric fistula is inclusive.

-Pioneered the use of non-pneumatic anti-shock garment which has saved the lives of so many women in Nigeria in the aspect of postpartum hemorrhage which instigated the story of Ayorunbo.

-Used his influence to ensure that a major multi-site clinical trial on breast cancer treatment is being currently conducted in Nigeria, including University of Lagos.

-Used his status as a respected role model and mentor to champion the fight against female genital mutilation (FGM) especially in its medicalization and management among health workers in Nigeria.

-Championed the course of various health issues that affect the reproductive health and rights of women and girls across the African continent ranging from emergency maternal and child obstetric care, obstetric fistula, breast cancer, family planning, gender-based violence amongst others.

-Championed the inclusion of FGM in the curricula of all health training and certification regulatory bodies via the drafting of new curriculums for the schools of Nursing, Midwifery and Health Technology.

is engendering quarterly community dialogue on reducing FGM and demanding accountability from health care providers and community institutional structures.

Mrs Oluyinka Amao-Obasa

TRUSTEE

Is the founding and present Managing Director/Chief Executive of Pierre Insurance Brokers Limited. She has spent over 35 years in the insurance business. Her experience in insurance traverses key industry and public sectors in Nigeria and internationally.

She holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Economics and Politics from the University of East Anglia, Norwich, UK, and a Masters degree in Development Studies in the University of Bath UK. On the professional side, she is an Associate member of Chartered Insurance Institute UK (ACII) and a Certified Insurance Service Representative (CISR) USA.

She started her insurance career as a commercial analyst with Legal and General Insurance Company UK and went on to join the commercial department in Royal Exchange General and later moved on to be the General Manager at Franco Insurance Brokers, Lagos Nigeria and afterwards she was able to accrue five years experience as business insurance consultant with a Murphy Insurance Agency in USA which is a five star insurance brokerage firm. There she was exposed to the handling of insurance businesses with government agencies such as Town of Hudson, Hudson Police and some others.
Her international work experience cuts across Europe and America where she has worked as an insurance advisor to several US companies among which are, Digital Card Systems Inc, Avalon Biometrics, Altius Technologies LLC on Insurance and allied matters.

She has attended several courses, seminars and workshops in Nigeria and internationally on the insurance brokerage and insurance in general. She recently completed an Induction Seminar for Insurance brokers chief Executive Officers organized by the Nigerian Council of Registered Insurance Brokers. She is a member Chartered Insurance Institute of Nigeria, CIIN.

Engr. Abiola Amao

TRUSTEE

Abiola Amao is the Managing Director of Bode Foam Industries Limited, one of the foremost foam manufacturing industries in Nigeria. He has over twenty years of experience in the foam and allied products industry. Abiola with his MBA degree from the University of Liverpool, specializes in using advanced financial strategies to keep the Company afloat even in the tough economic climate of today. Abiola is a powerful force in the workplace and uses his positive attitude engendered by a deep faith in Jesus Christ to encourage others to work hard and succeed. He is inspired daily by his faith, his wife, Eyitayo and family. He is passionate about helping others and currently serves as patron of the Association of Physiotherapy Students, University College Hospital, Ibadan. He’s an avid football fan and supports The Liverpool Football Club. He is a member of the Ibadan Golf Club.

Mr Chima Kalu

SECRETARY

Mr Kalu is a Chemical Technologist, Biochemical researcher, Urethanologist and Administrator of several years, in both private and public sectors of the economy.

Rising through the ranks in the Polyurethane Foam industry,he had the unique opportunity to directly observe and contribute to the development of Polyurethanes in Nigeria and Ghana. With a passion for innovations in Quality Assurance, he was particularly involved in promoting best practices in Polyurethane Foam manufacturing in Nigeria. Following his long stint in the Polyurethane industry he opted to broaden his reach by pursuing his core science and technology roots in the Nigerian Institute of science laboratory technology (NISLT). During his tenure as Assistant Director,Laboratory services, he directly participated in on-site accreditation of science laboratories in Nigerian tertiary institutions. He also facilitated training programs for science laboratory personnel from the public and private sectors.He has received several ISO related trainings including one on Narcotics and Forensic Analysis, Proficiency testing scheme and a Certificate of competence in iimplementation of ISO17025.

A man of many parts and inclinations, Mr. Kalu has been involved in freelance writing for over three decades and had written for the print and electronic media in the eastern states, on diverse subjects .A chartered fellow of the Nigerian institute of science laboratory Technology (FISLT), he belongs to several professional bodies, including the Chemical Society of Nigeria CSN,Nigerian institute of management NIM, and Polyurethane technologists association of Nigeria, PTA .Mr Kalu has published several scientific papers, including the latest on  ”Biochemical analysis of tomato pastes in Ibadan markets” , the outcome of a project he carried out with professional colleagues ( http:// academic journals.org/journals/AJFS/articles-abstract/BDAC94459904). He obtained a Masters degree in Managerial psychology from the university of Ibadan and serves on the board of the Polyurethane Technologists association of Nigeria, an organization that promotes the development of the Polyurethane industry in Nigeria.
